The New Man (As a New Creation )-1

At one stage or the next in your life , you will have to be new to something . A new year , a new school , a new job , a new idea , a new blog and the list goes on . Any new idea can quickly vanish into thin air if not treated with extreme delicacy and discipline . One of such ‘new things’ is your rebirth with Christ.

Now that you have believed in the Lord Jesus , you are walking in a newness of life . You have had a spiritual rebirth and not a physical rebirth .

“Nicodemus asked, ‘How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot return into his mother’s body. He cannot be born a second time.’ Jesus explained, ‘I am telling you what is true. Unless a person is born by water and by God’s Spirit, he cannot come into the kingdom of God. People give birth to what is human. But God’s Spirit gives birth to spirit.”

John 3:4-6 EASY

Your physical body doesn’t change and so you may find that your thoughts ,actions and desires initially seem so contrary to what is right . Do not be discouraged and dismayed . As you develop and strengthen with Christ , these bad habits would pass away too .

“When anyone belongs to Christ, they become a new person. Their old way of life has gone. Their new life has begun!”

2 Corinthians 5:17 EASY

When you are in Christ , you become new . There is no two timing that. He brings the change and restoration you need . You may have problems with addictions , secret sins , depression etc but as Christ dwells in you richly , you will experience a new and fresh start .

When I first gave my life to Jesus Christ in October 2008 , I did not understand why was happening. The next day I tried really hard to be at peace with my siblings and to avoid getting my parents angry for any reason . I tried to be perfect as I thought that was what was required of me . It all proved futile and as a result I felt hopeless and backslid . I thought that I could save myself and so I ignored the relationship with the one who would actually save me .

Do not think that anything you can do for yourself will lead to your salvation . Jesus Christ It is only by the grace of God and not by your works that you are saved .

“When you believed in Jesus, God saved you because he is very kind. You could not save yourselves, but that is God’s gift to you.”

Ephesians 2:8 EASY

“You are praying for me and Jesus Christ’s Spirit is helping me. So, I know that what has happened to me will have a good result. Yes, God will rescue me.”

Philippians 1:19 EASY

I stumbled upon a book ‘Seven Great Principles ‘ by Bishop Dag Heward- Mills and it changed my life . These are the seven great principles of Salvation . When you understand these seven principles , you are well on your way to understanding what it means to be saved .

* The Spirit of an Unsaved Man is Dead and Desperately Wicked

* The Spirit of a Saved Man is Righteous and Truly Holy

* After You are Born Again, Your Spirit is a New Born Baby and It Must Grow

* After You are Saved, Your Mind is Still the Same; It Must be Renewed

* After You are Saved, Your Body is Still the Same; You Must Keep It Under Control

* After You are Born Again, Your Mind is Still Open to All Kinds of Thoughts; You Must Learn to Think on the Right Things
