A Masterpiece, magnum opus ( Latin) is a creation that is worthy of much praise . It is considered the greatest work of an artist . It is a product of careful construction , consideration and creativity . God has refined us in Jesus Christ to accomplish all that he planned for us to do.
Leonardo da Vinci began painting the Mona Lisa about 1503, and it was in his studio when he died in 1519. He allegedly worked on it intermittently over several years, adding layers of thin oil glazes at different times. Some critics even claim that he never really finished it .
As a visual artist , I can say that the thought behind every successful work is equally as important as the finished product. I spend at least six hours doing the actual painting but it may take days , weeks and even months to conjure the idea in my head . To create anything close to a masterpiece takes inspiration, research , materials and of course the artist’s skill.
God calls you his masterpiece , he has given much thought to every aspect of your life and physical form . You are a product of God’s hand to his canvas . He even went on to make sure that you are functional for the tasks he has ordained specially for you ! You are physically and functionally unique ! That is mind blowing!
You may not feel or think you are a masterpiece but be assured that the way you are is perfect for the good work that you have to do here on Earth . Perhaps if you were born with other features you would not be able to do what you are doing today . Bask in the fact that you are special because God must have spent much time and exerted much effort in creating you ! You are a work of art and like Leonardo Da Vinci , God is still in the process of refining you !
Quit complaining about all that you have or do not have physically . Your physical appearance is only a complement to that good work you have to do !
