Hi! I am Nastasia Ellis, a simple young adult that is passionate about sharing the goodness of Jesus. I was born and bred in Jamaica, a country that has a church in almost every corner you turn . I did not officially plant myself in a church until my early teenage years. I met Melissa Halliman through my sister who attended her high school. I remember they were partaking in a drama production and I happened to be at every rehearsal . That was how I got to know and admire Melissa.
Being a Christian for me means not conforming to this world , but being transformed by the powerful message of the cross. It means waking up each morning , wanting to seek Jesus first because after all He has done for me, that is the absolute least I can do.
I have faced many challenges on my walk and as I like to encourage others, this Christian journey is a process. It is a long distance race with many hiccups and obstacles but it is a race that is worth it because we are chasing an imperishable crown. It is not always easy being a young devout Christian in a culture where youth usually means living “wild and free” but I remember Ecclesiastes 12:1, and I am encouraged to not let the excitement of youth cause me to forget me Creator.
“Remember [thoughtfully] also your Creator in the days of your youth [for you are not your own, but His], before the evil days come or the years draw near when you will say [of physical pleasures], “I have no enjoyment and delight in them” Ecclesiastes 12:1
I am therefore able to overcome my seasons of spiritual ruts and seemingly loneliness with God’s comforting word. I remember John 14, where I am assured that Jesus has gone to prepare a place for me and is therefore coming back soon to bring me there.
The same applies to you if you have accepted the call of Jesus. If that is the case, then there is no better news than that. In the midst of the evident chaos and corruption happening in our world , it is comforting to remember that life does not end here and that our names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Commit your youth to God because there’s no better time than now. Today is the day of salvation!
