When God have Moses and Aaron the instructions for the Passover , he was very specific about the lamb to be sacrificed. The Passover commemorates the story of the Israelites departure from ancient Egypt and points to Jesus Christ as the lamb of God .
The blood of the lamb was to be placed on the door to serve as protection from plague that would destroy the first born in the land of Egypt . The blood was a token for the people of Israel. The plague would Passover them and not harm them.
The Passover signifies Jesus Christ who is the lamb of God . Jesus Christ was also crucified around the same time that the Israelites did the Passover . It is interesting to note that as the lamb was without blemish , Jesus Christ was without sin .
The blood of Jesus Christ serves as a token for us today. Without the shedding of blood , there would be no remission of sins . My sins are forgiven today all because Jesus’ blood was shed . By reason of this blood, the plague of sin and death no longer have power over me . They pass by reason of the blood of Jesus .
Jesus, the Lamb of God, is still available to take your sins . And now because of the resurrection, you can be a Christian and live in freedom!
Be blessed !
Amen! God bless you.
