“For no man who has a defect shall approach [God’s altar as a priest]: no man who is blind or lame, or who has a disfigured face, or any deformed limb,”
Leviticus 21:18 AMP
In the book of Leviticus , God gives specific requirements for those who were being called in the Aaronic priesthood . They had to be without blemish and physical defects . God required people who were holy and set apart to offer sacrifices to atone for the sins of the people of Israel.
“You are to be holy to Me; for I the LORD am holy, and have set you apart from the peoples (nations) to be Mine.”
Leviticus 20:26 AMP
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:”
1 Peter 2:9 KJV
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
Romans 12:1 KJV
God requires you to be holy . He wants us to be set apart for him to do his work and as . As the sacrificial animals were without blemish or faults , we should desire to be without blemish especially as we become God’s priests .
The Good News is that today , we have a High Priest , whose Priesthood is not only unsurpassed but one that was hinged on Him being the ultimate sacrifice for us. He understands our temptation and weaknesses yet he still requires that we hold fast to our profession .
“Inasmuch then as we [believers] have a great High Priest who has [already ascended and] passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession [of faith and cling tenaciously to our absolute trust in Him as Savior]. For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize and understand our weaknesses and temptations, but One who has been tempted [knowing exactly how it feels to be human] in every respect as we are, yet without [committing any] sin. Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment].”
Hebrews 4:14-16 AMP
At a point in my life , I felt devastated at my sins and I felt so embarrassed when I had to confess them . After some time , I began embracing the grace and strength that exists in God . Jesus Christ must have been tempted with all my temptations thus he understands from my point of view and frees me from them all . Jesus Christ did not just come to save me from my sins , but He came to save me from the deception that He does not understand what I feel .
There is hope for you even if you fall into sin . God expects us to be without sin but even if you do fall and confess your sins , God is willing to forgive you of you .
Be blessed !

I have found out that sin likes to make us feel a shame. But thanks be to God He gives us grace which makes us stand tall and testify of the goodness of God.
