Day 5 – My Jesus Journal – A Prophet Like Unto Moses

Whenever God has something important to tell us , many times he sends a Prophet. His word is made clear to us through prophets who gives direction to our lives as God would have it. We have to learn to accept the gift of God and thus by extension , God in our lives .

Moses , one of the greatest prophets in the Old Testament , made reference to a prophet like him that God would send . This prophet is Jesus Christ and he would speak as God commands. We are not only advised to accept this prophet but also to hearken to His words .

Jesus Christ is sent to us , as the greatest prophet.

“The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your fellow Israelites. You must listen to him. For this is what you asked of the Lord your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly when you said, “Let us not hear the voice of the Lord our God nor see this great fire anymore, or we will die.” The Lord said to me: “What they say is good. I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites, and I will put my words in his mouth. He will tell them everything I command him. I myself will call to account anyone who does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name.”

In Acts 3:23 , there is also a consequence that comes with not following Jesus . A prophet gives God – inspired guidance to people. Wherever there is a lack of a prophet , you are likely to be destroyed and cut off.

“For Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you. Anyone who does not listen to him will be completely cut off from their people.’”

I remember a time in my life where I felt like I was between a rock and a hard place . I was literally on the road to destruction . It is true that God sent many prophets to minister in my life but I didn’t receive them much less what they had to say . I treated them casually and as you can imagine , I was on the brink of destruction . It wasn’t until I accepted a prophet that things began to transform in my life .

God has sent Jesus into your life but have you accepted him ?

The outcome of life depends on whether or not you accept Jesus Christ . Choose to follow Jesus Christ !
