Day 10 – My Jesus Journal – The True King

Have you ever felt that God’s promise or blessing for you is taking too long to manifest ? Do you sometimes wonder if God has forgotten what he told you ?

God made a promise to David in second Samuel . A promise that God would establish his kingdom for ever . This promise seemed like it took a while to be accomplished but it certainly came to pass .

And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever. According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.”
‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭7:16-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

David would have sons who would rule over Israel but there is one specific son who would fulfill the coming of the Kingdom of God . This is the promise that Israel and all of humanity would hold on to . This is the coming of Jesus Christ who would be the true King in God’s Kingdom.

Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw. And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭12:22-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The coming of the kingdom of God implies many things but one of the most notable events is that Jesus Christ fulfills the coming of the kingdom of God which was promised to David . This is the assurance that we have today . We can be accepted into the kingdom of God by receiving Jesus Christ for who he is . The kingdom of God is where God is King and where he reigns and rules .

When you pray for “The kingdom of God to come” you are praying for the king , Jesus Christ to reign and rule in your life . After all , the Kingdom of God is within you ! (Luke 17:21) It is personal .
