Day 12 – My Jesus Journal – The Prince of Peace

Peace in my opinion means rest . It is that sense of content I have when I run to meet a deadline and manage to catch it right on time . It is how I feel when I have written a very difficult exam but I was very prepared for it . Whatever your definition of peace is , Jesus Christ offers more than that .

“Behold, a son will be born to you, who will be a man of peace. I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side; for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quiet to Israel in his days. He shall build a house for My Name (Presence). He shall be My son and I will be his father; and I will establish his royal throne over Israel forever.’’
‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭22:9-10‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Solomon prefigured Christ as the Prince of Peace .Upon Solomon’s arrival , there would be rest and peace to Israel . In a similar way , Jesus Christ came and he was the Prince of Peace for all humanity . Jesus Christ came to give peace and rest to us .

“Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.]”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:27‬ ‭AMP‬‬

The peace of God is our hope but it does not mean that everything is copacetic. Peace is not the absence of chaos. We have rest not because everything is perfect , but because we trust someone who is perfect !
