A shepherd is someone who cares and guides sheep . David was a great example of a shepherd, yet in Psalm 23:1 , he refers to himself as a sheep in God’ s fold . One of the most remarkable things about shepherds for me is their ability to lead many sheep at once sometimes not losing sight of any. Where there is the absence of a shepherd there is fear , confusion and distress .
“The LORD is my Shepherd [to feed, to guide and to shield me], I shall not want.”
Psalms 23:1 AMP
Under the leadership of God , there is no lack or need of anything . He has provided his word as healing , correction , guidance and a sword for us his people . Where the presence of God is , there is no need of anything . The Bible tells us that God supplies all our needs according to his riches in glory . You just name a need !
“And my God will liberally supply (fill until full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:19 AMP
I have practically seen God work in this regard . When I was down and out , he lifted me out of my sadness. When I was without necessities , he sent physical angels to feed me . When I was thirsty , he gave me a continual supply of the word . All this existed in the Lord ,who is my Shepherd .
In John 10:11 , Jesus Christ refers to himself as the good shepherd . The good shepherd gives his life for the sheep . He literally did that to prove his undying love for me .
“I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down His [own] life for the sheep.”
John 10:11 AMP
We are sheep in God’s pasture ! How are you responding to Jesus as your shepherd? He gave his life for you but are you allowing yourself to be led ?
Be blessed !
Profound !
