Day 18 – My Jesus Journal – The Righteousness of God

I once heard a story from my Pastor who said he was on his way to another city by train. He woke up late , perhaps 30 mins to the time of the train’s departure . He hurriedly got ‘everything’ and quickly made his way to the train station . He was very happy as he was going as he felt like he successfully managed to beat time . Everything was copacetic until he arrived at the terminal and they asked all passengers for some type of identification . The teller asked “ Passport please ?” and to his grim surprise , he packed everything excluding the most important thing .

Riches will not provide security in the day of wrath and judgment, But righteousness rescues from death.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭11:4‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Many times people think that what they have managed to garner on this Earth is the main thing . They spend so much of their time trying to seek riches but neglect to seek God because they feel like riches are of the utmost importance . The Bible encourages us that righteousness rescues in the day of death and that righteousness in through Jesus Christ .

He made Christ who knew no sin to [judicially] be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we would become the righteousness of God [that is, we would be made acceptable to Him and placed in a right relationship with Him by His gracious lovingkindness].”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:21‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Jesus Christ who had no sin , in a sense ‘became sin’ just for you and me so that we could be righteous in the eyes of God and thus experience salvation ! Our belief in God’s righteousness ( Jesus Christ ) will save us !

Be blessed !
