Day 25- My Jesus Journal – The Fourth Man in your Fiery Furnace

I read a blog post yesterday from my blog friend and this is the link here. He basically speaks of how he deals with pain and how Jesus helps us to deal with pain . It was so profound and coincidentally today I will talk about how God’s presence with us helps us endure hard situations . I was once in a very difficult situation where my walk as a Christian became very difficult . I was between continuing with God and giving up at the next possible escape . I believe that when I prayed that night , I recognized the help of God which kept me until today .

“The king said, ‘But I see four men walking about in the fire! Nothing holds them and the fire has not hurt them. The fourth man seems like a son of the gods.’”

Shadrach , Meshach and Abednego were three men of incredible faith . You can imagine how hot that furnace was and how their skins should have burned. As a matter of fact King Nebuchadnezzar ordered that they heat the furnace seven times hotter than it usually is . What a furnace ! I thought that Jamaica was the hottest it could get for me but imagine fire seven times hotter .

Now that you have imagined it , I know that there are situations in our lives that are like this fire . You begin to think that you are alone and even talking about it is useless as no one can experience that amount of pain and suffering . The agony is unbearable . These include episodes of death , poverty , crisis and any other painful situation . At the next possible moment, you would want to be out of that fire . The reaction of these three young men is nothing short of incredible . They not only stayed in the fire , they began walking around loosely as if unbothered, and testing out where the fire is at its peak intensity . Amazing ! If you ask me , I would have been frantically jumping up and down and trying to get out at the most convenient time .

It is quite an unbelievable situation but it is as a result of the presence of God through Jesus Christ the Son of God . The men not only had a deep seated faith but their faith was evident in how they freely walked around . God promises in the our darkest and most impossible situation , he will be with us and will strengthen us . He would help us and uphold us .

“So do not be afraid, because I am with you. Do not be sad, because I am your God. I will make you strong and I will help you. Really, I will hold you with my right hand. It is strong and it wins wars.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭41:10‬ ‭EASY‬‬

God is with you ! God is fighting for you and God is increasing your pain threshold and strength by this righteous right hand . That is your prophecy!
