Day 28 – My Jesus Journal – The Building Of The Tabernacle of David

There is no easy way to restore ruins or to build something that is torn down . It requires wisdom and immense skill and it is not usually the popular option in many situations . I once had a friend who I was cordially inviting to church and in the midst of the conversation he expressed how broken he was and how he gave up the idea of salvation from a life of alcoholism , depression and brokenness . I saw how broken he was and I almost began thinking that he was messed up beyond repair . That is the misconception about mistakes. It is the belief that instead of rerouting to reverse it , we wallow in a life thinking that it can not be fixed . Mistakes , mishaps or ruins generally do not just turn around unless there is a deep seated hope in God who can turn our mistakes and ruins into a miracle .

The time will come when you will be powerful and important again. It will be like the time when David was your king. Now you are like a house that someone has destroyed. But I will repair you and I will make you good and strong again.”
‭‭Amos‬ ‭9:11‬ ‭EASY‬‬

The Lord God said, “Later I will return. At that time I will bring back the family of King David. People have destroyed his kingdom, but I will make it strong again.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭15:16‬ ‭EASY‬‬

God promised that David’s tabernacle would be restored like a broken house that has been destroyed and in ruins . This was the restoration of Israel . The heir of the throne would be the Messiah who would raise up Israel for good . In Acts 15:16 , even the Gentiles would have an opportunity to the kingdom of God through their faith and not through circumcision ( which was a practice of the Jews). The raising of of the tabernacle of David signified the moment when the nations would have a chance to be part of the kind son of God . That is possible through Jesus Christ : The tabernacle of David.

I was so happy to announce to my friend that he had a chance to be part of the Kingdom of God . Even though he felt like he was not a likely candidate to be a Christian , the raising up of Jesus Christ was so powerful that no mistake , nationality , tribe , position or language was greater than a chance of restoration and salvation through Jesus Christ .

Jesus Christ came to restore us no matter how broken or ruined we are . He specializes in turning your broken fragments into a beautiful story !

Be blessed !

  1. This point is very profound “Mistakes , mishaps or ruins generally do not just turn around unless there is a deep seated hope in God who can turn our mistakes and ruins into a miracle.”

    God bless you!
