Day 32 – My Jesus Journal – The Source of Good Tidings ( Are you in the Party ?)

I love good news. I love to celebrate when something exciting happens in my life . After every semester in my medical school tenure , I would login to my school’s portal to access my results . As you can imagine , I would call my closest friends and we would arrange a celebration for our results . I also had a friend who would buy a cake all for herself and celebrate life . I thought it was strange but she felt it necessary to celebrate little achievements at least once in a while . The point is that a celebration usually follows something good . Judah was encouraged to celebrate the good tidings that they received from a messenger . In Nahum 1:15 , the Assyrians would be destroyed and so Judah should celebrate by keeping their feasts and performing their vows .

“Behold, on the mountains the feet of him who brings good news [telling of Assyria’s destruction], Who announces peace and prosperity! Celebrate your feasts, O Judah; Perform your vows. For the wicked one [the king of Assyria] will never again pass through you; He is completely cut off.”

I remember speaking to a friend who said that if one of his friends became a Christian , he would host a huge party to celebrate . It was a great joy when she finally accepted Jesus Christ and what a celebration we had ! The Bible says that even heaven rejoices when one sinner is brought to Jesus Christ !

“And when he gets home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, because I have found my lost sheep!’ I tell you, in the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.”

For you and me , our great celebration is the message that Jesus Christ and what He has done for us ! How happy life would be if we all devoted our lives to sharing the gospel . That is exciting ! If you ask me , every day should be a party to tell others about this great news of salvation through Jesus Christ . I have found that it is one of the most exhilarating aspects of my Christianity . It is thrilling to talk about Jesus especially when you have had a personal encounter with Him ! Every opportunity in our lives should be a celebration for Jesus and the salvation of a lost soul .

“But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people. For this day in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord (the Messiah).”

Be encouraged to be that messenger who shares the exciting message of Christ to everyone . Do not get tired of sharing . People need hope , salvation and good tidings ! You have the power to witness to all these people ! All of heaven would be rejoicing for at least one soul ! Join in the party !
