Day 36 – My Jesus Journal – The Humble King

Humility if you ask me , is knowing who you are but accepting and devoting yourself to service to another person . Jesus Christ , a great King, came not to make himself more popular than he already is by frivolous shows and appearances but he came to seek , to save and to serve !

Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.”
‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭9:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

You would expect that Jesus the greatest King would enter Jerusalem with beautiful expensive apparel and a grand entrance . That is what one would think when they think of a king. Jesus Christ however came as a humble king , one that was seen riding on a donkey as opposed to a horse . This suggests great humility as Jesus Christ could have entered Jerusalem with a more ostentatious display .

“I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whoever does not receive and welcome the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭10:15‬ ‭AMP‬‬

As Christians , we are called to be humble . To even enter the kingdom of God where God is king , it requires great humility to give up your will to change anything in your life and relying solely on the power of Jesus Christ . Many noble , seemingly wise and educated individuals find it difficult to submit to this great salvation because of their own ‘wisdom’. To receive Jesus Christ and to give your life wholeheartedly to Him is one of the greatest acts of humility. If we do not become humble as a little child , we will not see the kingdom of God .

Are you humble enough to accept the simplicity of the gospel and to live for Jesus ? Without this humility , you will not see the Kingdom of God.

Be blessed !
