Let’s face it, man , by nature likes to win. We like to win at everything like studying , planning , dressing well and the list goes on . One of our innate qualities is a desire to be right or to be approved by those around us and many times this leads us into unnecessary arguments and contentions .
In Matthew 5:9, we are called to be peacemakers . These are people who make peace even when the situation demands something else . People who make peace have stepped into the realm of possibility because we all know how hard it can be to be peaceful at times and that is why the Bible teaches us in Romans 12:18 , “If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.”

The Bible also teaches that those who are peacemakers are children of God. Children can be admonished, children do what you say even without thinking most times . Children do not seek to be right and are quick to run to you immediately after they have been reprimanded . To be a peacemaker is not easy always, but if you ask me , it’s a small price to pay if we want to be called children of God !
