“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has lost its taste (purpose), how can it be made salty? It is no longer good for anything, but to be thrown out and walked on by people [when the walkways are wet and slippery]. “You are the light of [Christ to] the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good deeds and moral excellence, and [recognize and honor and] glorify your Father who is in heaven.”
Matthew 5:13-16 AMP
As a disciple of Christ or one attempting to be one , this is a very important message that we should remember or else we live our lives differently . We are called to the salt of the Earth and the light of the world not for ourselves but so that God can be glorified .
More of than not , our purpose or saltiness is loss as we pursue other meaningless pursuits and that is where the problem starts : inability to see and be who God has called us to be .
In a similar way , we are called to be the light of the world but many times instead of sharing the light of the glorious gospel with others or to live our lives as Jesus did , we allow many different circumstances to affect who we were truly called to be . A light shines in the darkness . Note that your light may not only be for you but for other people as well to see ! Do not be overcome by the darkness around you but be inspired to shine brilliantly as Jesus did !
You are salt and light but have you been walking worthy of that vocation ?
Be blessed !
It is the source in which we celebrate, God is the source and it is to his glory that we reflect the joy of salvation in our walk, desiring non to perish!

Beautifully said! I want to strive everyday to do everything as if I’m doing it for God, not man, & to spread the Gospel of Jesus at every opportunity.

I will be pondering this all day:
“You are salt and light but have you been walking worthy of that vocation ?”
