Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. Matthew 6:1-2 NIV
It is almost natural when we have done something good , that we announce it to the world to gain the attention and applause of those around us . We have all been there and we feel happy when we are seen and appreciated by those around .
However, Jesus reminds us that we should not do things merely to be seen by men because you will be on a journey to only please those around you and not necessarily your Heavenly Father .
Many times we lose ourselves trying to gain the attention and approval of those around us but we lose sight of what God wants us to do . Be sure that you aim to please God first and foremost , and not always look for the applause of man . Then and only then, will God do something special for you !
The world is not our stage and certainly not our home . Choose to be approved by God.
