Jesus instructs His disciples as He sends them to the Gentiles . His instructions are very detailed and relevant to what the disciples would experience as they are being sent to preach. Many of the disciples had things that they were doing before they met Jesus but it was not until they met Him that they started fulfilling their true purpose.
“Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.”
Ecclesiastes 12:13 NIV
The best person to control an invention is the inventor . The best person to have dominion over a creation is the creator . The best person to control you , is the One who made you . Imagine how awfully chaotic it would be if the roles were reversed .
Whenever we try to control our lives or focus too much on what we think is right for our lives , the further we deviate from our original purpose . An iPhone is only useful so far as it is aligned with the original vision that Steve Jobs intended . The minute an iPhone malfunctions or does anything other that what was programmed , it becomes less meaningful and can soon be replaced. We are not truly living , until we lose our lives to Jesus, and follow Him with all our heart .
