Day 76 – My Jesus Journal – A Small Faith For A Mighty Mountain

And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. ~Matthew 17:20

I am often slightly offended when someone close to me ignores my ability to help in a certain situation , and rather struggles to explore alternative solutions. I really should not be bothered but somehow I am when I see that a situation has gone haywire when it could have been avoided .

I imagine that is how God feels when we do not have faith in Him to do the impossible. The Bible reminds us in Hebrews 11:6, that without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. We are encouraged in 2 Corinthians 5:7, to walk by faith and not by sight because only our faith in God can make all impossibilities possible . He wants us to believe in Him and not believe in just what we can see. Our sight is limited because we do not know the plans that God has for us and so we cannot see trust ourselves to make solutions to our problems.

Jesus works to build the faith of the disciples in Matthew 17:20 by commenting that their faith , even as small as a mustard seed can move immovable obstacles . The emphasis is not on a literal mountain but refers to the insurmountable problems that we face daily as Christians. Choose to live by faith today .

Be blessed !
